Could someone tell me how our Soldiers our fighting for my freedom to oppose the war by bombing Iraq?

Some woman on MSNBC just said I should be ashamed, bceause they are fighting for MY FREEDOMS, and honestly, I can't think of any soldier who has actually defended that freedom since 1945.

You don't think that being slowly and painfully murdered by chemical/bio weapons would somewhat affect your freedoms?

True, Iraq hasn't yet been proven to be tied to any terrorism in the US but are you willing to trust Saddam that much? Trust me, he'd be grinning ear to ear at a photo of you dead in the streets on North Dakota.

not so sure that he really gave or gives a crap about USA as long as we left him alone. He is like many other country leaders ... a really bad human.

I don't suppose he'd care much about bio-weaponing North Dakota if we STOPPED BOMBING HIM.

I mean, he's been in power since 1979 and he's yet to attack the US. I don't see why he is such a threat now.

Didn't Vietnam break the back of communism? That was after 1945. That's what I was told once and tend to believe it. Another thing, I consider what Bush is doing for us Americans is a lot like preventative medicine. You always hope that the preventative medicine won't have any long term effects that would be detrimental. When it's all said and done and Iraq is liberated I believe that the Iraqians will be thankful for the action we are taking for their safety and sure to come freedom.

I really believe what divides this country is class envy (warfare).

If only I could foresee the future perfectly though. Sioux will win both games - I'll be there!!

The Nam war only made fools out of the leadership. Well documented mistake. As far as communism it still exist and the only reason we won the cold war with Russia was that Russia went bankrupt. We out spent them in the arms race.

Communism in Russia was going to fail soon anyway. The quality of living in the West was growing so much faster than that in the Communist countries that they would have probably revolted themselves by the 1990's anyway.

I wasn't so aware that Vietnam "broke the back of communism" anyways, but I don't claim to be an expert on that particular war.

As for this war being preventative medicine, I have a few thoughts.

-The Iraqi people who get to live in a democracy (hopefully) 10,20,30 years after this WILL be happy and thankful to us. Those that died probably aren't that happy about it.

-Just becuase the Iraqi people are happy, doesn't mean this war didn't piss off a whole new group of suicide bombing young terrorists at us, for flexing our imperialistic muscle.

-Class envy can be fixed with a little socialism

-Go SIOUX!!!!!
